Chairman’s Planning Guide Project: Flood Relief Donation PLANNING 1. PRIMARY PURPOSE. (WHAT IS THE ONE REASON YOU WANT TO SUCCESSFULLY RUN THIS PROJECT?) The primary purpose of this project is to assist with flood relief efforts in North Dakota. 2. GIVE A BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE PROPOSED PROJECT AND BACKGROUND INFORMATION. FOLLOW THIS WITH A LIST OF THE SPECIFIC AND MEASURABLE GOALS TO BE ACCOMPLISHED BY THIS PROJECT. (EXAMPLE: TO INVOLVE 25 JAYCEES.) The chapter will make a monetary donation in the amount of $200, to be sent to the North Dakota Jaycees, for flood relief assistance. This project will assist in attaining the goal “To conduct at least 6 Community Assistance projects” in the Community Service Pinnacle Area/CPG Category, under the Community Development Area, as outlined in the 1997-1998 Chapter Planning Guide for the West St. Louis County Jaycees. Goals: A. To donate $200 to the North Dakota Jaycees Flood Relief effort. B. To have at least 5 Jaycees involved in the project. C. To publicize the donation. 3. Goal Results: A. To donate $200 to the North Dakota Jaycees Flood Relief effort. This goal was met. B. To have at least 5 Jaycees involved in the project. This goal was met. 7 Jaycees participated in the decision to make the donation. C. To publicize the donation. This goal was met. The donation was publicized in the chapter newsletter. Project Impact: This project involved 7 Jaycees in West County, and could affect the lives of an unknown number of non-Jaycees in North Dakota. Benefit to the Individual: The individual benefits by becoming a giving person. Making a difference in the lives of people we do not even know will give people a sense of satisfaction. Benefit to the Chapter: The chapter benefits by helping another Jaycee chapter help their community. Benefit to the Community: The community benefits by having more money to buy needed supplies to help those affected by the flood, or to help pay for clean-up efforts after the flood.
