    About the Jaycees

    The U.S. Junior Chamber of Commerce is a non-partisan, non-profit leadership-training organization for young adults between the ages of 21-40 that provides opportunities for personal development and achievement, and provides avenues for intelligent participation in the affairs of their community, state and nation, and opportunities to develop true friendship and understanding among young adults of all nations.

    The Jaycees give a young person the chance to take on a leadership role in projects benefitting the community. The skills learned while chairing a Jaycee project can be used in the workplace, in public service, in service to community or church, or in a hundred other ways. The Jaycees also provide structured training programs and speakers that allow the individual to learn new skills.

    The Junior Chamber of Commerce was founded in St. Louis in 1915 by Henry "Hy" Giessenbier. The organization has evolved into the premier Leadership Training organization for young people. There are Jaycee chapters all over the United States (U.S. Junior Chamber of Commerce) and the World (Junior Chamber International - JCI).

    The Jaycee Creed

    Jaycees Logo We Believe:
    That faith in God gives meaning and purpose to human life;
    That the brotherhood of man transcends the sovereignty of nations;
    That economic justice can best be won by free men through free enterprise;
    That government should be of laws rather than of men;
    That earth's great treasure lies in human personality;
    And that service to humanity is the best work of life.
